[뉴스플릭스] 전진홍 기자 = The initial exhibition of Seojung Lee Chun-hwan's Crossing the River [Light + Grain] will be held at the Superior Gallery in Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul from September 17, 2019.
This especially meaningful exhibition, which utilizes the entirety of the Superior Gallery, will display 71 works, including, for the first time, the new series Light + Grain.
Artist Lee Chun-hwan expresses the spirit and beauty of Korea with original techniques to capture Korea's elegant beauty and sophistication and his works have been beloved by every generation. The theme and expressions that win the hearts of viewers of all ages have been introduced through many media, including the movie The Spy Gone North and dramas Sky Castle, Spring Night, The Wind Blows, and Justice.
Seojung Lee Chung-hwan, who has played a pivotal role in building on modern Korean painting, celebrated the 42nd anniversary of his art career this year. Lee Chun-hwan does not settle for traditional painting techniques and styles. He combines his own original techniques with the landscape of Korean paintings to express sensual and bold colors, harmoniously combining restrained and elegant oriental aesthetics with modern formative senses.
This exhibition will be a special one consisting of new works and abstractions of the middle-aged artist. Artist Lee, who has been working for over 40 years to express Korean landscapes, emotional forms and colors, goes beyond mountains, the moon, and nature to show abstractions of 'Light' and 'Texture'.
Lee Chun-hwan's new work, which was first presented at the PLAS-Contemporary Art Show held in Seoul in June, is characterized by the abstract color-dimension work with depth completed by layers of colors and a unique matter. Bold color choices and contrasts give an elegant yet striking impression.
The initial exhibition of Seojung Lee Chun-hwan's Crossing the River [Light + Grain] will be held between September 17 and 28 and the exhibition will be open between 10 AM and 7 PM.
